How to Get the Smooth Escape Trophy and Achievement in Resident Evil 4 Remake

Resident Evil 4 Remake: Jet Ski

As mentioned earlier, this particular section comes right at the end of the game in Chapter 16. After defeating Saddler, Leon will find himself back with Ashley and only have just under three minutes to escape the island. Avoid all of the enemies along the way, and jump on the jet ski at the end of the linear path.

The main gist of the challenge is to avoid any damage during this wild ride to freedom, similar to the one with Luis and the mine cart. The same principles apply here, so if there is any damage sustained at any point in time, players can simply reload the autosave to restart their attempt.

Although the time limit may seem pressing, the best way to approach this is to drive at a moderate speed rather than go full tilt. This will prevent any unwanted damage from poor driving. Slight clips into the walls where sparks fly are still okay, while running over objects will not do any damage to the jet ski. Do note that there are certain doorways that can be difficult to go through at high speeds, so take it slow and steady in order to come out unscathed.

Be sure to take jumps off ramps when they appear, and upon landing, take the time to scope out the surroundings before stepping on the accelerator again. Going slow will still leave players with more than enough time to get through the section without damage, and once the light at the end of the tunnel is visible, feel free to put the pedal to the metal.

Successfully navigating this section without sustaining any harm will see the trophy and achievement be added to a growing collection and confirm that Leon S. Kennedy has once again saved the day in style.

Resident Evil 4 (2023) is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
