Despite a myriad of technical and performance-related issues and some of the worst reviews in the 25-year history of the series, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are still highly enjoyable games. This is because they make some pretty drastic changes to the series' tried and tested formula, building on many of the great ideas first showcased with the release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus ten months prior.
Never before have mainline Pokemon games offered quite so much to do, with three main story paths to follow and more than a hundred new Pokemon for players to track down and catch. After more than a quarter of a century of following the same old script, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet tear up the rulebook, throwing players headfirst into a brand-new open world full of never before seen mechanics. Unlike in previous Pokemon games in which would-be trainers were forced to follow a fixed route, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet grant players the freedom to create their own adventure, with three different storylines converging on one final main mission. Tera Raid Events
As well as the plethora of post-game content available in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, those who've completed the main story can also take part in a series of special Tera Raids. These limited-time events provide players with a chance to battle and catch rare and powerful Pokemon while also getting their hands on a variety of special items that can be used to strengthen their teams.
Though the Tera Type of each raid Pokemon typically determines the best counters, there are certain Pokemon who are incredibly well-suited to six and seven-star raids.
