Similar to previous games in the series, Capcom's Resident Evil 4 remake rewards players with plenty of unlockable bonuses for beating the game and completing other feats during playthroughs. Not only does this increase the replayability of the game, but it also allows players to throw in various modifiers to make things even more interesting than before.

One of the more interesting bonuses that can be obtained in the game is the Cat Ears accessory. For those hoping to don this accessory, this guide will lay out the steps on how to get the Cat Ears in Resident Evil 4.

How to the Cat Ears Accessory in Resident Evil 4 Remake

Resident Evil 4 Remake S+ Professional

In order to obtain the Cat Ears in the Resident Evil 4 remake, players will have to beat the game on the extremely challenging difficulty, Professional Mode, with an S+ ranking. Of course, that is easier said than done, especially with the conditions required.

First off, players will have to complete the game once on any difficulty in order to unlock Professional Mode. Following that, they will then have to start a fresh file and beat the game again on Professional to get the S+ ranking. The mode will feature much more dangerous enemies, higher prices at the Merchant, and more resource scarcity. Even the parries have to be perfect parries in order to keep Leon safe.

To make things even worse, the S+ ranking requires finishing the game in less than five and a half hours. For those that are familiar enough with the game, it can already be a tall task, much less for others who can already struggle while playing on lower difficulties. Approach this challenge with efficiency and little wastage, otherwise, it will not work out at all.

The Use of the Cat Ears Accessory in Resident Evil 4 Remake

The stringent requirements to get this item are probably why its benefits are so powerful. By donning the Cat Ears, Leon will have unlimited ammo for every weapon that is in his arsenal. That means no more picking up or crafting ammo, and players can feel free to use their most powerful weapons at any time to blow the enemy to smithereens. Do note that the Bolt Thrower and normal Rocket Launcher do not benefit from the Cat Ears.

If the objective is to take the survival out of the survival horror experience, then this accessory is perfect for that. With the Cat Ears in possession, the rest of the game will be a cakewalk, and that is the perfect reward for all who complete the Herculean task.

Resident Evil 4 (2023) is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
